Getting started.
Alright let's assume you have yourself an Idevice.
These are jailbreakable
IPod Touch 1st,2nd,3rd generation Firmware 3.1.2 and lower
IPhone 1,2,3,3GS firmware 3.1.2 or lower
If your iPhone came with 3.1.3 installed on it your phone is not jailbreakable. It is using a new bootrom and the jailbreak has not been released yet.
Now what you will need is ITunes 9.0.3 which can be found here
Itunes 9.0.3
And you will need BlackRa1n which can be found here
BlackRa1n
To get started you will want to install ITunes (if not already done) and then backup your device. Once that is complete you will need to right click on BlackRa1n and select run as administrator. Then you wait, once it is done your Idevice will boot up with a picture of GeoHot.
You are now Jailbroken, but this is only the beginning. I suggest choosing to install Cydia and then tell BlackRa1n to uninstall itself.
Once in Cydia head over to manage, sources, then select edit and then select add. In the windows that pops up add “Cydia.hackulo.us/” then select done
Enter the repository (known as rep from here on out) and select Appsync and Installous. Once they are installed you might want to check out Winterboard, which you can find by using search. Now you can use Installous to download apps for trial purposes or apps that are not available in your area.
Now we teach you how to unlock this will only work with T-Mobile(and maybe some others not sure on those but not Verizon or any other major ones.).
Alright first thing is first. Go into Cydia again and head back to manage then sources then edit then add once there add the source “Blackra1n.com”
Open up the repo and install Blacksn0w and you’re done.
If this did not work then one you didn’t do it right, two You will have to wait for the next version of blackra1n to come out
You might also need to use BlackRa1n to restart your device if it is tethered. GeoHot is releasing an update for the jailbreak soon that will make it so you do not need to plug in your Idevice to turn it back on and keep the jailbreak
